Introduction

Why register?

“Opening the Register is a key response to the 2002 recommendation by the House of Lords Select Committee on the regulation of practitioners of complementary and alternative medicine. It is particularly important in terms of keeping the destiny of anthroposophical health and social care in the hands of its practitioners at a time of increasing regulation being imposed by Government and other authorities. Registering with CAHSC will help maintain the freedoms to practise anthroposophical health and social care by providing credibility for our work beyond the anthroposophical movement itself. By demonstrating that the movement is committed to high standards of practice and care, registration with CAHSC will thus offer great opportunities to better promote and develop the benefits of anthroposophical health and social care.

To achieve these benefits for the movement as a whole it will be vital that all practitioners apply for Registration. From May 2006 registrationhas been available to professionals in the following disciplines: Anthroposophical Therapeutic Arts, Anthroposophical Therapeutic Speech, Counselling and Psychotherapy, Eurythmy Therapy, Medicine, Pharmacy and Rhythmical Massage Therapy. The Register was extended in June 2007 to include Curative Education and Social Therapy professionals.

We look forward to welcoming you in this exciting new development for the movement – and extend our heartfelt thanks once more to all those who have supported us financially and humanly to get us to this point.”
