The Therapies

Rhythmical Massage Therapy

Rhythmical massage therapy has its origins in classical massage. Its unique approach and techniques further extend therapeutic possibilities to the treatment of a wide spectrum of acute or chronic physical, psychological and developmental illnesses and conditions. It is an appropriate therapy for, babies, children, adults and the elderly.

While traditional massage aims to bring about relaxation of muscles and connective tissue by applying pressure techniques, rhythmical massage aims to stimulate the flow of fluids through the body through employing lifting, suction-like movements and rhythmic stroking gestures. These methods, unique to rhythmic massage, help to release sluggish, rigid or compacted blockages that develop within the fluid realm of the body as a result of constitutional tendencies and illness processes.

Rhythmical massage therapy has the potential to warm the body and to regulate and deepen the breathing, both essential ingredients in the therapeutic process. Effects of massage are further enhanced by the use of specifically indicated ointments and oils. While at the outset the patient is a passive recipient of this treatment, rhythmical massage can stimulate responses which may generate personal insights and a greater understanding of how one can contribute to one's own process of healing.
