The Therapies

Eurythmy Therapy

Eurythmy, as an art of movement, originates from music and the sounds of speech, i.e. vowels and consonants. Each sound quality has its own deep connection to the human being and the activities within the human physiology. In eurythmy these sound qualities are transformed into movements of the whole body. When used in therapy, these movements and gestures are worked with in such a way that processes on both the physical and the soul-spiritual level are engaged. The life forces and powers of self-healing which are inherent within the human being are stimulated, thereby strengthening a sense of well-being and building self confidence. Eurythmy therapy also helps to balance, regulate and harmonise. It has been shown to be especially beneficial in improving posture, mobility, spatial orientation, breathing, circulation and warmth.

Eurythmy therapy may be used in the treatment of children, young adults, adults and the elderly. Therapy programmes are designed to meet the particular needs of each individual. Eurythmy exercises may be carried out while standing, sitting or lying down. This therapy addresses a range of mental health problems as well as acute, chronic and degenerative conditions including cardio-vascular disorders, neurological problems, muscular-skeletal disorders and irregularities in child development. It may also be helpful in supporting personal development and growth through life crises.
